Tired of cartoons and animation. Well, here's something else that you could try to keep yourself entertained during this quarantined life of yours. For all the Anime fans and the beginners, here's something you'd love to watch and I'm sure you won't be bored of. Taking a look at a few Anime series that could keep you interested in fantasy and love and drama with action is an all-rounder package. Let's take a look at a few of these series:
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
The advent of this series back in 2019, kept all the viewers surprised with suspense every moment of the episodes of this anime. This series was adapted into an anime from the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge. It was serialised in the Weekly Shonen Jump of 2016. Set in the Taisho period (1912-1926) in Japan where demons exist with humans. The story's main character, Tanjiro Kamado decides to become the demon Slayer on account of having found his parents killed by the attack of demons. And his only sister, Nezuko has been changed into a demon. To turn her back into a human and be the ultimate Demon Slayer, keep watching to know the ending. The sequel of this story shall be released this year which is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train.
Clannad
One of the best anime in Japan, though less popular worldwide. Clannad is one of Kyoto Animation's legendary masterpieces. This series is recommended for any kind of Anime fan. It isn't an action based supernatural event or any sort of such thing. A purely human drama follows the daily life of the main lead, Tomoya and the heroine, Nagisa in high school. It reaches the climax in the secind half of the anime. A very touching series, will keep you moved throughout. It is completely worth it, for you to spend 44 episodes on this drama.
Monogatari Series
Produced by the animation studio Shaft under the direction of Akiyuki Shinbo, is a popular series released in 2009. Adaoted into an anime, from the novels writtten by Nisioisin. The first season started as Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari and Nisemonogatari Black in 2009-2012. Monogatari means tales in English. A set of bizarre stories are depicted focusing on High School boy, Koyomi Araragi and several other girls. The number of problems arising from apparitions called Kaii in Japanese, like supernatural ghosts. These supernatural beings have influence on the characters and he saves them. There are 5 seasons of this novel with 3 of them being adapted into an anime. Take a look, if you haven't as yet!
One Piece
The first volume of Manga having been published in 1997 and have a total of 90 volumes sold by now. The anime adaption began 2 years after the first Manga. Over 900 episodes have been released since then. The whole story can be divided into 10 parts and beginners can enjoy it even if they start watching it from somewhere in the middle! It progresses to speak about the adventures of the main character, Monkey D.Luffy and his crews in the Pirate World. He sets his sail for the ultimate treasure called, "One Piece". This singular piece grants a superpower to those who eat one while the fruits unable them to swim. There are quite powerful fight scenes between Luffy and the Devil Fruit Eaters.
Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World -
Also called, Re-Zero, is considered to be one of the best Japanese Anime and lightest novels released in 2010. The first season released in 2016, with 25 episodes and the newly edited version is aired from the beginning of this year. The main character Subaru, is sent to Isekai (another world), with no superpower except one such ability. The story proceeds with the encounter of Emilia. To know more about her having that one ability, watch the series till the end to feel the thrill and excitement.
Death Note
The mystery and horror anime, based on Manga, that published in the Weekly Shonen Jump from 2003-2006. A highly rated by their Anime fans. A popular series as the anime episodes with its short stories exceed uptil 37 with its well elaborated storyline. The protagonist, Light Yagami finds a death note which makes people die if their names are written on the note. Enjoy this mystery horror thriller filled with suspense and excitement to know the reason behind it.
Love Live!
An idol, which means Japanese pop singer groups, that is now a very popular theme of Anime as well. The most famous and first anime that assured the establishment of the theme. The two seasons aired in 2013-2014 and the second season, called, Love Live ! Sunshine! in 2016-2017. This series focuses on how the process of high school group, named u's (pronounced muse) grows and Aquors featured in this season.
It is also said that the fans of Love Live! visit the Tokyo's town, Akihabara, which is mecca of Japanese anime and inspired the production of anime.
Anohana : The Flower We Saw That Day
Also called, Anohana, is one of the most heart-warming anime. It begins with the fact that Jinta Yadomi, whose nickname is is Jintan plays video games instead of going to school. One fine day, during Summer, his childhood friend Meiko Homma (Menma) shows up before Jintan as a ghost as she dies previously in an accident years before. This anime comes to an end in just 11 episodes and take you through a series of beautiful and emotional scenes.
Violet Evergarden
Released in 2018, based on the light novel with 3 volumes. The anime movie Violet Evergarden : Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll was released in 2019, after the TV Series. The brand-new story, Violet Evergarden the Movie will follow the stories as a film this year. The story speaks about a girl Violet, who works writing for others, as an Auto Memory Doll is discovered with a number of beautifully drawn sketches in this anime. Steins; Gate
A science fiction series of 24 episodes aired, back in 2011. This followed Steins; Gate 0, the continuation of the story that went into the past, released in 2018. Rintaro Okabe the main lead of the story and other Future Gadget Laboratory members try to invent a time machine. This anime is known for its time loop plot. An interesting adventure of the unknown.
Inuyasha
With 56 volumes adapted into an anime, consists of two parts. The first part is based on the Manga that comprises of vol 1-36 and the second part is, Inuyasha : The Final Act that isbbased on the original manga story. A 15-year-old girl is transported to another world in the past. She meets the half-dog demon, Inuyasha over there. Kagome and Inuyasha with their travel to complete the Shikon Jewel enables someone's wish to be realised. A series of adventure and action all the way through, till the end. Don't miss out on this.
Fate
Based on the game for Windows, this series released its first season back in 2006. Followed by this was the past story Fate/Zero in 2011-2012. Shiro Emiya, the main character, survives the Holy Grail War with his Servant Saber. The new series Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Battlefront: Babylonia has been aired in 2019.
