MOST FAMOUS CHRISTOPHER NOLAN MOVIES TO WATCH

Christopher Nolan, a name we all are very familiar with. He is indeed, the best of the best directors to have ever existed in Hollywood. His movies are totally incredible and marvellous. Once you get into loving his movies, there is no way out. He has made quite a number of movies and yet some are better than the best.
The best movies ever made by Nolan are:
1.    The Prestige: The prestige is, at its very essence, the most complicated of war movies. Two magicians, Christian Bale as Alfred Borden and Hugh Jackman as Robert Angier, get in a brutal battle to create the biggest of illusions, as they sacrifice their entire lives in order to outshine one another. Led by powerhouse performances from the two protagonists, especially Jackman, the plot tempts you in bringing you closer and closer to what you believe to be the truth, only to pull the carpet straight from under you.

2.    Inception: The foundation of this film is simple, only if you understand the sarcasm that I used. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of a thief who uses dream-sharing technology in order to steal business secrets. However, after a long chain of his routine job, he is offered the chance to clear his criminal records and return to the States, and to his children. Besieged with across the board top-drawer performances, from Ellen Page’s newly hired architect who’s brought in to design the dreams, to the almost comedy pairing at times of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy. And that’s without mentioning Dileep Rao as Yusuf and the magnetic Marion Cotillard. This film is a must watch for people who love thrillers.

3.    Interstellar: Starring a freshly Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey alongside fellow Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, Nolan’s space marathon revolved around the fight to save humanity. With the Planet running out of food, a newly found wormhole gives a shine of hope to those on Earth as McConaughey’s ‘Cooper’ and Hathaway’s ‘Dr.Brand’, alongside AI units CASE and TARS leave behind their families for the greater good of the human race. Although the film many of the audiences confused and unanswered, what can’t be denied is the sheer audacity, bravery, and execution of this film. Having consulted leading theoretical physicist Dr. Kip Thorne throughout the whole of production, Nolan was able to deliver an outer-worldly experience to audiences. This film is like a treat for all the space lovers existing out there.

4.    Memento: The story revolves around Guy Pearce’s character Leonard. A man suffering from short-term memory loss and his inability to create new memories following an attack that left him injured and also got his wife killed. The story is clearly, carefully and intricately crafted by Nolan. Due to Nolan’s drip-feeding of information, you cannot help but jump to conclusions on the outcome of Leonard’s story, and whether Joe Pantoliano’s ‘Teddy’ is trust-worthy, which places audiences in a unique position of knowing just as much about the situation than Guy Pearce’s main character does, in fact, we get to learn about Leonard as he learns about himself through the entire movie.

5.    Dunkrik: The film is one of the best Nolan movie to have released and the decision to follow three storylines, on the beaches, on the sea, and in the air, combine for an absolutely classic piece of Cinema. As well as a nomination for best picture, the film would also score a hat-trick of wins in below the line categories, winning the awards for sound mixing, sound editing, and Film editing. And big praise should go to editor Lee Smith for stitching together the three stories in a manner that was easy enough to follow. The film also scored Nolan’s biggest win with critics, landing at a 94/100 on Metacritic.

Aristotle's Theory of Tragedy

Tragedy is an imitation of an action that is grave, complete, and of a certain magnitude; in language embellished with each kind of artistic ornament, the various kinds appearing in separate parts of the play; in the form of action, not of narrative; with incidents arousing pity and sympathy; with which to carry out the Catharsis of such emotions is dread.
